Melanie Nicholson, Principal
Melanie Nicholson is an award-winning communications strategist with close to 20 years’ of experience in strategic communications, public and stakeholder relations, and broadcast journalism.
She has held communications and public relations positions in post-secondary education, as well as the tourism and ski industries. Melanie understands the importance of developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcome and has successfully executed multi-faceted plans for large-scale projects. Working in multiple collaborative communications and marketing teams has given her first-hand experience in the importance of consultation and discussion to determine the best strategic decisions to support the business objectives.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Communications from Royal Roads University, a Broadcast News diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Melanie has been recognized with a Gold Award of Excellence from the Canadian Public Relations Society, a Gold Quill Award of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators, and an honourable mention from PR Daily’s Nonprofit PR Awards. Stacey Walyuchow, Communications Associate
Stacey Walyuchow brings more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience and understanding to MLC’s community of clients.
Prior to beginning her creative pursuits in 2015, Stacey worked in Marketing and Sales roles in various industries such as Land Development, Home Building and National Radio Sales. A job lay off and a young daughter were catalysts into her launch of an online gallery and pop event arts collective in 2015. Through this venture and the relationships created with incredible Calgary Artists, Stacey found the courage to begin her own artistic practice and held her first solo art exhibit in 2017. Twyla Siple, Content Writer/Photographer
For nearly two decades, Twyla has enjoyed being a multimedia artist, specializing in digital photography and photo manipulation. She is also an accomplished writer, meditation guide and singer songwriter.
Specializing in digital photography for over a decade, Twyla began working in print publications as a Multimedia Journalist for Postmedia. In just a short time, she was launched to editor.
After breaking to become a parent, this multi-talented mother of two is now adding value to MLC as a content writer and photographer. You can follow her on IG @littlelightsphoto_yyc.
Craig Lester, Content Writer
Craig Lester brings more than two decades of experience in telling stories. As a seasoned broadcast journalist, he believes in the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on local communities.
Prior to joining the team at MLC, Craig was a news anchor for a Calgary all news radio station. He is also the owner of Rural Roots Canada, a multimedia company focused on sharing stories from the agriculture industry through videos, podcasts and more.
Through blogs, articles and other written content, Craig is working to elevate the stories of all MLC clients.
